In New York last November, the Third Committee - one of the working committees of the UN General Assembly - adopted a landmark resolution on older people's rights. In this resolution, the General Assembly decided to set up a working group to consider how to strengthen the protection of older people's rights. It will do this by looking at the adequacy of the existing international human rights framework, identifying any gaps and considering the possibility of new human rights instruments.
This is fantastic news and we are delighted with this development!! To celebrate and to mark this momentum resolution, we are asking our partners and affiliates to join in and toast this step forward by raising a glass and taking a photo. It would be fantastic if you could take photos of yourselves and, if possible, some of the older people you work with to celebrate this new resolution!
